About:
Carlito is a sans-serif typeface designed as a metric-compatible replacement for Calibri. It features a humanist style with open forms and excellent readability, making it suitable for both UI and text environments. This package provides the font files for use on macOS systems via Homebrew.
Key Features:
  • Metric compatibility with Calibri
  • Humanist sans-serif design
  • Includes Regular, Bold, Italic, and Bold Italic weights
  • OpenType typographic features support
Use Cases:
  • Replacing Calibri in documents for cross-platform consistency
  • General purpose UI and text typography
  • Web development font stacks
Alternatives:
  • font-calibri – Proprietary font requiring separate installation, Carlito is its open-source metric replacement
  • font-liberation-sans – Another metric-compatible open-source font, but designed to match Arial rather than Calibri
