About:
Courier Prime is a monospaced serif typeface designed specifically for screen reading and scriptwriting. It offers improved legibility and a more refined aesthetic than standard system fonts like Courier New. This font provides a professional look for coding environments and screenplay formatting.
Key Features:
  • Enhanced legibility for long coding sessions
  • True italic and bold variants for syntax highlighting
  • Designed for screen readability and scriptwriting standards
  • Open-source and free to use
Use Cases:
  • Writing and editing screenplays in Final Draft or Scrivener
  • Coding in terminal emulators and text editors
  • Creating technical documentation requiring monospaced fonts
Alternatives:
  • Fira Code – Fira Code is a monospaced font with programming ligatures, whereas Courier Prime focuses on traditional serif readability.
  • Source Code Pro – Source Code Pro is a sans-serif monospaced font, offering a cleaner, more modern look compared to Courier Prime's serif style.
