About:
Judson is an open-source serif typeface designed specifically for on-screen readability, particularly at smaller sizes. It features a large x-height, open counters, and robust serifs to maintain clarity in digital environments. This makes it an excellent choice for coding environments, long-form reading, and user interfaces where legibility is paramount.
Key Features:
  • Optimized for on-screen readability
  • Large x-height and open counters
  • Includes Regular, Bold, Italic, and Bold Italic weights
  • Open-source and free to use
Use Cases:
  • Enhancing text clarity in code editors and IDEs
  • Improving readability for long-form content on screens
  • Designing user interfaces with legible serif typography
Alternatives:
  • Source Serif Pro – Adobe's open-source serif, similar focus on screen readability but with a different aesthetic
  • Georgia – Classic screen serif, widely available but proprietary and less optimized for modern high-DPI displays
