About:
New Tegomin is a serif typeface released by Google Fonts, characterized by its high-contrast strokes and sharp, calligraphic terminals. It is distributed as a variable font, allowing developers to fine-tune weight and optical size for optimal readability across different screen resolutions and user interfaces.
Key Features:
  • Variable font architecture for flexible weight and width control
  • High-contrast serif design optimized for digital displays
  • Extensive language support via the Google Fonts API
  • Open-source licensing (OFL) for unrestricted usage
Use Cases:
  • UI/UX design requiring elegant, high-contrast typography
  • Editorial layouts and long-form content rendering
Alternatives:
  • Lora – Lora offers a more moderate contrast, making it a safer choice for body text compared to New Tegomin's dramatic strokes.
  • Playfair Display – Playfair Display provides a similar elegant aesthetic but with a larger x-height and less sharp serifs.
