About:
Hss is an interactive parallel SSH client designed for executing commands across multiple remote hosts simultaneously. It provides a terminal-based interface that allows users to manage connections and view aggregated output in real-time. This tool significantly streamlines administrative tasks for server fleets by eliminating the need for manual, sequential connections.
Key Features:
  • Interactive terminal UI for managing host lists
  • Parallel command execution across many servers
  • Aggregated real-time output display
  • Support for grouping and filtering hosts
Use Cases:
  • Deploying configuration changes to a cluster of servers
  • Gathering system metrics or logs from multiple machines at once
  • Performing emergency maintenance across production environments
Alternatives:
  • pssh – Provides parallel SSH execution but lacks an interactive TUI.
  • Ansible – A configuration management tool that is heavier and agent-based (or agentless) but offers idempotent state management.
