This formula builds the game from source, ensuring compatibility with modern macOS systems while preserving the original gameplay experience.
Key Features:

  • Preserves all original NetHack gameplay mechanics and features
  • Compiles natively on macOS via Homebrew
  • Supports both terminal and graphical interfaces
  • Maintains compatibility with standard NetHack save files and bones files
Use Cases:
  • Playing NetHack with a fully Japanese-localized interface
  • Learning roguelike game mechanics in Japanese
  • Classic dungeon crawling gameplay for Japanese-speaking users
Alternatives:
  • nethack – Standard English version of NetHack without Japanese localization
