About:
Ledit is a line-oriented text editor designed for interactive command-line sessions. It allows users to edit command lines in a full-screen buffer, supporting basic cursor movement and text manipulation. Its primary value is improving the usability of command shells that lack advanced line editing capabilities.

Key Features:

Full-screen line editing
Command history management
Cursor movement and text modification
Lightweight and simple interface

Use Cases:

Enhancing command line input in shells with limited editing
Editing long or complex commands without retyping
Interactive text manipulation in terminal environments

Alternatives:

readline – Standard library providing line editing, often integrated directly into shells
vim – Full-featured screen editor for complex file editing, heavier than ledit
