About:
Most is a terminal-based paging program that displays text files or standard input one screen at a time. Unlike standard pagers like less or more, it supports multiple virtual windows and can scroll horizontally, making it ideal for viewing wide output. It offers a robust set of navigation keys and configuration options for power users.
Key Features:
  • Multiple virtual window support
  • Horizontal and vertical scrolling
  • Customizable color configuration
  • Efficient handling of large files
Use Cases:
  • Viewing wide log files or output that doesn't fit standard terminal width
  • Monitoring multiple text streams in split-screen mode
  • Reading documentation or code files with complex formatting
Alternatives:
  • less – Standard pager with wide availability but fewer advanced features
  • more – Basic pager with minimal functionality
  • vim – Full editor with more overhead but greater capabilities
