About:
pdfpc is a command-line utility that acts as a presenter console for PDF presentations. It provides a window showing the current slide, the next slide, and a timer, while the audience sees only the full-screen presentation. It is designed for multi-monitor setups, allowing presenters to manage their slides efficiently without cluttering the main display.
Key Features:
  • Multi-monitor support for presenter view
  • Current slide, next slide, and notes display
  • Timer and progress bar for time management
  • Interactive pointer and drawing tools
  • Support for PDF metadata (e.g., presenter notes)
Use Cases:
  • Presenting academic papers or technical slideshows
  • Managing lecture pacing in a classroom setting
  • Conducting professional business presentations
Alternatives:
  • Impressive – Impressive offers high-quality transitions and effects but is less focused on a minimal, text-based presenter console.
  • Keynote / PowerPoint – GUI-based suites that are feature-rich but heavier and less suited for pure PDF workflows or terminal-based environments.
