The tool provides a powerful alternative to grep by adding a navigable selection layer to command-line workflows.
Key Features:
  • Interactive selection interface with fuzzy matching
  • Supports Python-style regex filtering
  • Customizable key bindings and layouts
  • Works seamlessly with standard Unix pipes
Use Cases:
  • Selecting processes to kill from ps output
  • Navigating and filtering large log files
  • Choosing git commits for inspection
Alternatives:
  • fzf – More widely adopted with better performance and shell integration
  • peco – Similar interactive filter written in Go with faster execution
