About:
Prepros is a comprehensive local development server and build tool designed for front-end developers. It compiles Sass, Less, Stylus, Pug, and JavaScript on the fly without Node.js installation. The tool provides live reloading, file watching, and HTTPS support to streamline the web development workflow.
|
Key Features:
- Zero-config compilation for Sass, Less, Pug, and JS
- Built-in local server with live reload
- HTTPS support for local development
- Cross-platform file watching
|
Use Cases:
- Compiling preprocessor languages without complex build setups
- Testing responsive designs across devices on local network
- Developing sites that require HTTPS locally
|
Alternatives:
-
Live Server
– Lighter weight but lacks built-in compilation
-
Webpack
– More powerful but requires extensive configuration
