About:
Ricochet Refresh is a privacy-focused instant messaging client that operates over the Tor network. It creates hidden services to enable anonymous, serverless peer-to-peer communication without revealing your IP address or requiring personal information. This tool provides strong metadata protection, making it difficult for third parties to track conversations or identify users.
|
Key Features:
- Anonymous peer-to-peer messaging over Tor hidden services
- No central servers or phone numbers required
- End-to-end encryption with metadata protection
- Contact discovery via unique .onion addresses
|
Use Cases:
- Secure communication for journalists and activists
- Privacy-conscious team collaboration
- Anonymous support and helpline services
|
Alternatives:
-
Signal
– Requires phone number and central servers, less metadata protection
-
Matrix
– Federated but not anonymous by default, requires server infrastructure
