About:
Specter Desktop is a GUI for Bitcoin Core that enables multi-signature and hardware wallet workflows. It acts as a coordinator for air-gapped devices, supporting PSBTs, air-gapped signing, and watch-only wallets. The tool simplifies node management and enhances security by keeping private keys offline.
|
Key Features:
- Hardware wallet integration (Trezor, Ledger, Coldcard, etc.)
- Multi-signature wallet coordination
- PSBT support for air-gapped workflows
- Bitcoin Core node management interface
|
Use Cases:
- Setting up a secure multi-sig vault
- Using hardware wallets with a personal node
- Creating and broadcasting transactions offline
|
Alternatives:
-
Electrum
– Electrum is a lightweight wallet with its own network; Specter relies on your own Bitcoin Core node.
-
Sparrow Wallet
– Sparrow is a desktop wallet focused on UX; Specter emphasizes multi-sig coordination and node integration.
