About:
Ttyplot is a lightweight, real-time plotting utility designed for Unix-like terminals. It reads data from standard input and renders it as a live graph directly in the console. This tool is ideal for visualizing streaming metrics without the overhead of a graphical user interface.
Key Features:
  • Real-time plotting of streaming data from stdin
  • Lightweight and dependency-free
  • Supports multiple plot lines and basic statistics
  • Customizable axes and colors
Use Cases:
  • Monitoring live server metrics (CPU, memory, network)
  • Visualizing output from scripts or sensor data
  • Debugging data streams in terminal environments
Alternatives:
  • gnuplot – More powerful and versatile for complex plotting, but heavier and not designed specifically for real-time terminal streaming.
  • termgraph – Python-based alternative that also plots in the terminal, but Ttyplot is a standalone C binary with lower overhead.
